Forging Manufacturing Engineer – hot forging, process
improvements, troubleshooting

We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to support their hot
forging operation. This position requires a 4 year technical degree
and 5 years of experience developing and supporting hot forging
processes. Knowledge of hot forging with screw type presses is
preferred. The Manufacturing Engineer will resolve production
processes and improve processes. Interested candidates will need
the ability to troubleshoot forging presses, tooling, material and
process issues. Candidates with the ability to diagnose equipment
downtime and mechanical issues is needed. The Manufacturing
Engineer works with genders to specify replacement parts and
tooling. The Manufacturing Engineer performs root cause
investigations and implement steps for resolution of production
related engineering problems. The engineer changes new or present
processes and/or routings where needed for improvement of cost,
quality and productivity. Past experience justifying capital
equipment to meet plant production needs with an emphasis on
improved methods through technology gains is needed. The
Manufacturing Engineer will interact with tooling engineers,
maintenance, production associates, quality and cross functional
Lean manufacturing team.
