Distribution Team Lead - Split 2nd shift

Job Description:

Leading company in Monroe, NC is seeking an energetic Team Lead to provide direction and leadership to the warehouse team of roughly 20 associates. The Team Lead will effectively work to accomplish operational goals and ensure optimum performance of all aspects (receiving, put-away, storage, picking/packing, staging and shipping) in the Distribution Center. Please note: This is a split 2nd shift Week 1 Monday - Friday 3pm-11:30pm and Week 2 Monday and Tuesday 3pm -11:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 7pm-7am.

Essential Functions:

* Develop world-class logistic capabilities and implement strategies to meet long-term business objectives

* Monitor warehouse performance goals. Analyzing results and initiating appropriate action to achieve success including process improvement.

* Manage Distribution Center inventory to ensure inventory loss prevention.

* Oversee all inbound material shipments and outbound distribution to customers.

* A strong collaborator with effective written and verbal communication skills

* Understanding of supply chain management

* Expertise with capacity planning

* Strong WMS knowledge

* Prior experience with distribution within a manufacturing environment

* Demonstrated success with Lean and/or Six Sigma projects (Black Belt Certification a plus)

* Analytical aptitude and problem solving skills

* Prior experience in the start-up or transfer of an existing Distribution Center

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Industrial/Business Studies or advanced levels of equivalent experience. Must have previous experience as a team lead or previous distribution center management in an automated or semi-automated environment. Strong distribution, warehousing, transportation and material handling experience required.
